Hospital Visiting Hours

Northwestern Memorial Hospital Visitor Information

Visitors play an important role in helping patients recover. The following policy outlines guidelines for visiting inpatients and outpatients:

  • All visitors must have a visitor pass, available at all information desks.

  • General visiting hours are from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Customer Service Officer will contact the nursing unit to obtain approval for visits after hours.

  • One visitor is allowed to stay overnight.

  • Visitors under 12 years of age must be in the company of a responsible adult. Children under six years of age must be free from communicable disease and current with vaccinations and receive approval from the on-call nurse.

  • Special visiting consideration for the Intensive Care Unit must be observed.
